مقدمه: دانش اتنوبوتانی به مطالعه کاربردهای بومی، محلی و سنتی افراد و فرهنگ‌های مختلف از گیاهان می‌پردازد. هدف: تحلیل مقالاتی است که ویژگی‌های اتنوبوتانی گیاهان دارویی ایران را از منظر مردم محلی بررسی کرده است. روش بررسی: این مطالعه با استفاده از روش تحلیل کتابسنجی گذشته‌نگر و ترسیم نقشه علم انجام شده است. مقالات بازیابی شده از پنج پایگاه اطلاعاتی مورد بررسی قرار گرفت و آیتم‌های نام منطقه، تعداد گونه، تیره-های با بیشترین تعداد گونه گیاه دارویی، اندام گیاهی، نحوه مصرف گیاهان دارویی و استفاده‌های درمانی گیاهان دارویی با بیشترین فراوانی استخراج شد. نرم‌افزار VOSviewer به منظور تحلیل هم‌رخدادی واژگان و ترسیم نقشه استفاده شد. نتایج: 145 مقاله (با 235 نویسنده در 59 مجله) در سه گروه تقسیم‌بندی می‌شوند: بررسی ویژگی‌های اتنوبوتانی گیاهان دارویی، بررسی ویژگی‌های اتنوبوتانی یک خانواده/یک گونه گیاهی و بررسی ویژگی‌های اتنوبوتانی گیاهان دارویی ایران جهت درمان/پیشیگیری یک بیماری/اختلال. مطابق نقشه، کلیدواژه‌های اتنوبوتانی، گیاهان دارویی، طب سنتی و اتنوفارماکولوژی از جمله کلیدواژه‌های پربسامد و بیماری‌های گوارشی، سرماخوردگی، دیابت، دندان درد، و همچنین بیماری‌های زنان، تنفسی و پوستی از جمله بیماری‌های پربسامد در مقاالت هستند. نتیجه‌گیری: مردم مناطق مختلف ایران به استفاده از گیاهان دارویی در درمان بیماری‌ها توجه دارند. با اینحال ویژگی‌های اتنوبوتانیکی گیاهان دارویی برخی مناطق ایران هنوز مورد بررسی قرار نگرفته است. در این مطالعه مقالات پژوهشی مجلات بررسی شده است. پیشنهاد می‌شود در مطالعات آتی، مقالات کنفرانسی و مقالات مرور نظاممند نیز ارزیابی شود.
